Patty Peisner is a Physical Educator and the Head Coach for the women's tennis team at San Diego Mesa College. She attended Grossmont College, then transferred to Texas Christian University on a tennis scholarship. She finished her B.A. at San Diego State University. in Physical Education and received her teaching credential. She later attended Azusa Pacific University where she pursed a M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education.
Patty's Tennis experience began as a junior in San Diego, where she earned a ranking as a singles and doubles player. In high school, Patty received all-CIF honors and won the CIF singles tournament in her senior year. Her collegiate career began at Grossmont College where her team won the conference and she was a finalist in doubles at The Ojai Tournament. She then attended Texas Christian University on a full-ride scholarship, competing in both singles and doubles. Over several years as a senior player, Patty has earned a Southern California ranking in doubles.
Patty has been coaching tennis at many levels. She began her coaching career in Los Angeles where she received a "Coach of the Year" award by the Los Angeles Times. She has more recently received a coaching award by her colleagues in the Pacific Coast Conference in 2003 . In 2004, Patty was inducted into her high school Hall of Fame for her contributions and successes in sports.
Since her tenure began at Mesa College, players have qualified and represented Mesa College at the women's State Tennis Championships in 4 of her seven years of coaching. Two of her players where recognized in the top ten in singles and doubles in the State of California and were finalists in doubles. As a team, Mesa College has enjoyed a top three finish or better in all but two of those years. Patty continues to mentor her athletes with a focus on "excellence in education with an emphasis in tennis".
