I am going to transfer. Can I still get a degree? Do I still need a degree?

Yes, see a counselor to apply for the Transfer Studies degree.

Yes, I am ready to graduate! But I have not petitioned to graduate.

You must complete a petition to graduate in the counseling office I-430 or visit your EOPS or DSPS counselor if applicable.

Yes, I have petitioned to graduate. What’s next?

Your academic record will be assessed by the Evaluations Department. Once processed, they will send you an official graduation evaluation that will indicate your completed and remaining course requirements.

I will be finishing my degree/certificate requirements in the summer. Can I still participate in the Commencement Ceremony?

Yes, just be sure to petition to graduate by May 5th.

I finished my degree/certificate requirements this past fall – can I still participate in the Commencement Ceremony?

Students who are eligible to graduate will be invited to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. Invitations are mailed in mid-March. Contact the Evaluation’s Office at (619) 388-2680, Room I3-201 if you have any questions.
