San Diego, CA. – In two notification letters received today by San Diego Mesa College, the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the regional accrediting agency that evaluates two-year colleges in California, took action to reaffirm San Diego Mesa College’s accreditation through 2024. This included accreditation for Mesa Colleges Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management.

For a full decade, San Diego Mesa College has been honoring Olympian student athletes for their hard work on the fields, pools and courts, as well as in the classrooms and community, as the tradition continued during a STAR (STudent Athlete Recognition) Awards ceremony and luncheon on Tuesday, May 9.

Psychology major Lori Fletcher graduated last month from San Diego Mesa College, after studying in what she refers to as a “comfortable learning environment” with dedicated professors.

Communication Studies major Brittani Kaigler from San Diego Mesa College will be transferring to Temple University for the fall 2017 semester to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree after graduating with her Associates Degree last month.

Dave Evans, San Diego Mesa College’s former Dean of Athletics, was selected for the 2017 National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) L. William Miller Award. The award is given annually to recognize athletics administration excellence on the two year level.

Two honors students from San Diego Mesa College – Restileon “Resty” Asuncion and Victoria Green – have been named to the Phi Theta Kappa, All-California Academic Team, First Team.

More than 20 San Diego Mesa College students were inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society during a ceremony at the college on May 4.

San Diego Mesa College’s men’s swimming and diving team won the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championship title for the second year in a row, and took sixth place in the statewide California Community College Athletic Association for spring 2017.
